BIG news everyone.

WOW – Level 4 Skin Rejuvenations certified by IQ Verify has been accepted for registration onto the JCCP register.

I can hardly contain myself (actually I’m probably one of about six people in the world excited by this).

To help you all I read stuff about articles referencing ISO Standards and aesthetic training – about ISO 17065 and 17024, and claims that these somehow represent the latest way of thinking within aesthetic training – I try and make sense of it while wishing I was in a pub or eating a dirty Chinese takeaway.

I do it for you so please at least feel sorry for me and read on a bit.

Why should you all care? And why should I care that you don’t care?

Because it’s the future of this industry and if you don’t care you might not be able to carry on!! And then I might not get paid anymore and not be able to afford the beers and the Chinese and Indian food.

You should all look at what’s happening and what might happen in the industry….and do TWO things:

1. Get as much aesthetic knowledge and competency in accordance with the latest guidelines.

2. Future proof your aesthetic career. Plan for the worst and hope for the best!

The core purpose of training is to improve competence. Get better at what you do.

With improved aesthetic competence there is a reduced risk of serious clinical issues arising, both during and after the treatment. With reduced risk comes increased acceptance by “authorities”.

Simple – prove you are educated and professional – and you will gain respect.

The more recognised qualifications you have the more seriously you will be taken and the less powerful the arguments against your capabilities become.

Also, should legislation or licencing come into force that formalises the requirement for specific forms of training/demonstrable competency, you will be streets ahead of those who sit back and do nothing now.

With the Skin Rejuvenation Level 4 to 7 look at the FACTS.

IQ Verify are a UKAS-accredited certification body. UKAS are the national accreditation body for the United Kingdom, acting on behalf of the UK Government. IQ Verify are a sister company to Industry Qualifications, the regulated awarding organisation that produced the first and only Ofqual-regulated Level 7 Qualification in injectables for aesthetic medicine.

So, who do you think are “the authorities” going to look to to develop the way forward?

This may be boring but if you have read this far I guarantee you, you are already in the top 5% of your profession….can you see that?

BORING BIT NO 273 – • ISO 17065:2012: This is the recognised standard for service providers, including aesthetic training providers. IQ Verify have developed a Learning Provider Certification Scheme in accordance with the requirements set within this standard.

BORNING BIT NO 297 • ISO 17024:2012: This is the recognised standard for the certification of persons, including aesthetic practitioners. IQ Verify have developed a Level 4-7 Certification Scheme in Skin Rejuvenation that meets the requirements of this standard.

It’s fabulously dull but fabulously official and OFICIALLY recognised.

And it’s a massive pain in the ass to be able to deliver this really boring stuff because the audits and examinations and tests for the training centre are even more dull.

But that’s how it is.

That’s how the world works.

And some more dullsville….

• IQ Verify set the bar, in accordance with Government guidelines and nationally recognised best practice, in terms of the standards expected of an aesthetic training provider.

• Training providers are able to objectively demonstrate that they have met all of the relevant guidelines and have been certified in accordance with an internationally recognised standard.

• Candidates can attend a training course assured that their chosen training provider is of a calibre that delivers upon the promises made within their Social Media posts.

DO GOOD TRAINING
DO GOOD TRAINING AT GOOD TRAINING CENTRES
DO GOOD TRAINING AT GOOD TRAINING CENTRES WITH PROPER QUALIFICATIONS
DO GOOD TRAINING AT GOOD TRAINING CENTRES WITH PROPER QUALIFICATIONS AND THEN DO SOME MORE

We compete with doctors and nurses who do years of study and have degrees….and if we want to win the argument that we are certified, qualified and should be treated equally then we have to suck up some boring stuff and get some quality certs.

End of.
